Whether you’re a soccer fanatic, gaming fanatic or just hungry, next week’s “FIFA 14” tournament will have something for you. Associate Students Incorporated (ASI) will host the two-day competition Nov. 20 and Nov. 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the University Student Union (USU) Game Room.
Sign-ups are $5 in the Game Room, which is tucked away next to Pop’s in the USU building. All participants will have the opportunity to game for a prize, with first place getting a $25 gift card, second place a $15 gift card and third a $5 gift card to a local restaurant or store of their choice.
“The tournament is a double-elimination and an opportunity to see what the Game Room is about,” Jake Regal, ASI Recreation Coordinator said.
“The $5 sign-up gets you a lot of food, a chance to win a prize, but most importantly a chance to hangout with a lot of other students in a relaxed and competitive environment.”
The “FIFA 14” tournament is the last gaming event of the semester. To make any suggestions concerning gaming events or tournaments for next semester, e-mail ASI at [email protected] or call 209-667-3849.
“Sounds like a good time, especially because I know there’s a lot of us that already play ‘FIFA 14’ at home,” Rafael Moreno (freshman, Criminal Justice) said.
“If we play here we can actually win something and hang out.”
The Game Room is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. to all California State University, Stanislaus students.
