Have you been looking for a night out with activities, entertainment and food? If you are like many college students that can’t afford this, then this is your lucky day.
On Oct. 4, starting at 4:30 p.m. and lasting until 8 p.m, Greek Night will take place at California State University, Stanislaus. The event, hosted by Associated Students Incorporated (ASI), will take place at Warrior Stadium, and will show support for the University’s men and women’s soccer teams.
“Some of the activities that I am going to have: free food for the first 150 students, campus pride giveaways including foam fingers, warrior helmets, megaphones, and Warrior Nation bracelets, a raffle and a soccer activity for students to participate in to get more raffle tickets,” Tamara Corpus, Campus Pride Coordinator, said. “Another thing we will have available is face painting and poster making.”
While some may be wondering what the face painting and poster making is for, it is all a part of Greek Night’s main objective.
While having a good time is a priority, the main goal of the night is to break the attendance record at Warrior Stadium.
Warrior Stadium made its debut in 2009 and has hosted many California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championship games but ASI wants a bigger draw for Greek Night.
The seating capacity of Warrior Stadium is 2,100 people but that does not include standing room only tickets, which ASI hopes to sell.
That may seem like a lot but that isn’t stopping ASI from wanting to reach their goal.
With plenty of room left, students are encouraged to go out and support Warrior soccer.
“It is very important that we get as many students there as possible on Friday,” Corpus said. “I want to keep this tradition going and break this year’s record. My goal is to get every student to participate in our cheers and show our pride for our school and our soccer teams.”
CSU Stanislaus is known for being a commuter campus but don’t let that stop you from showing your school pride.
Bring your family and friends out to Greek Night to have fun and support our soccer teams.
Don’t forget that students and faculty get into Warrior home games for free with your Warrior card. So go, have fun and be a part of something special: a record.
