What’s better than enjoying a fun day in the sun with good food, good people and hot rods?
How about a fun day in the sun with good food, good people, hot rods and your California State University, Stanislaus Warriors Baseball team.
The Warriors will host their 6th annual Fanfest, BBQ Cook-off and Car Show Oct. 12 at the CSU Stanislaus baseball field.
Community members, family and friends are encouraged to join the fun and participate in the event.
“My favorite part of Fanfest is seeing a large amount of our supporters during the season come out and […] spend a fun and entertaining day with the team and people that are part of the baseball program,” Dan Molieri (senior, Kinesiology) said of his experiences at Fanfest as a Warrior Baseball player.
Fanfest has a great atmosphere for people of all ages. The event is from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. with plenty of activities to take part in that will keep you busy and entertained throughout the day.
Children partake in wiffle ball games, a home run derby, bounce houses and carnival games while their parents venture out to the car show and sample meat from the competitors in the BBQ cook-off.
Medals awarded throughout the event are for “Best Ribs,” “Best Tri Tip,” “Best Chili” and “People’s Choice”.
“My favorite activity is testing the tri tip and chicken from the cook-off,” James Heller (senior, Business Administration) said. “They always do a tremendous job and the meat comes out to perfection.”
Heller and Molieri are both Warrior baseball players. Fanfest is a great way for the community to get to know their CSU Stanislaus baseball team, as well as spend a day with their family and friends.
The baseball players will attend and work the event dressed in uniform and eager to meet the supporters.
Whether you are picking your favorite car to win the show, enjoying the wine and beer or watching the kids learn and enjoy baseball in a fun and positive environment, you are sure to have a good time.
“It’s great that the younger kids and little leaguers in the community come to Fanfest,” Heller said. “It gets them not only interested in baseball but also involved in our program from an early age, which hopefully will get them to come out and support us throughout the year.”
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. All of the proceeds go to the CSU Stanislaus Baseball team.
Make sure to come out and support your CSU Stanislaus Warriors. You definitely don’t want to miss out on this day of fun.
