During the month of August, the University Police Department (UPD) has dealt with more than just campus-related incidents including warrant felony, misdemeanor arrests and assault with threat to commit bodily harm, which are all listed in the Student Right to Know Daily Incident Log.
On Friday August 15th, UPD reported a warrant/felony arrest that took place off campus. The following Friday, UPD reported a warrant/misdemeanor arrest that took place at the center.
In the Village, there was one reported incident that reflected threatened bodily assault.
Another offense was reported on campus where a simple assault occurred and was defused with no major injuries or weapons.
UPD also encountered 10 situations with insecure doors and windows in the Student Services building and Fitzpatrick Arena while during another instance, multiple buildings were insecure campus wide.
Over the course of August, UPD made 12 traffic stops, ran into four suspended or revoked licenses and five total violations of driving while on a cell phone or failure to stop on and around campus.Circumstances with suspicious vehicles occurred four times.
In parking lot three, UPD reported two incidents of possession of a controlled substance and an alcohol-related offense for driving while under the influence.
Before the start of the fall semester, UPD patrolled the campus and surrounding areas 206 times, assisting the Turlock Police Department 22 times out of the 206.
Also reported in the Student Right to Know Daily Incident Log were two Emergency Blue Light hang-up calls and five 911 hang-up calls.
Crimes listed included one incident of bicycle theft and one incident of vandalism in the Vasche Library. An incident involving a juvenile in the building was also reported.
Other circumstances included were one citation sign off, one false fire alarm, one injured faculy member, one stray animal and two sick persons on the softball field.
