Stanislaus State students have an opportunity to escape the daily grind of attending class for one week as spring break kicks off on March 28. While some students don’t get much of a break, many others will be enjoying their week off by playing video games, going out of town and catching up on homework amongst other things.
Mason Khol (senior, English) will be spending time at the Ripon Farmers market helping his dad sell sweets for Squares Bake Shop, his family’s business.
“After all our work is done, I’ll probably try to play some Elden Ring,” Khol added.
John Lopes (senior, English) will be having a relaxing break reading and playing Elden Ring.
Hector Yerena ASI board director of Art, Humanities, and Social Sciences, will be turning 22 on March 28, which he plans to celebrate. He will also be taking time to play some video games.
“I definitely plan on playing a lot of video games over break since I haven’t had a lot time to do so this semester with tackling seven courses,” Yerena added. “I’ll be playing a lot on my PS5 and Switch.”
Rachel Gowin (junior, English) also has plans to game over the break.
“I’ll absolutely be playing the new Kirby and the forgotten land!,” Gowin said.
Playing video games are not Gowin’s only plans, as she will be using her time over break to sit for a half sleeve by tattoo artist Drain at Emerald Tattoo.
Zeba Ahmad (junior, Political Science), like many other students asked, doesn’t see spring break as an opportunity to relax.
“The only thing we get a break from is having to come to class,” said Ahmad. “I am also studying for LSAT for law school.”
Shaheen Khan, ASI board director of Science, has a number of things planned before returning to regularly scheduled classes and duties.  for a “WARRIOR STRONG” finish, plans to travel.
“I will be going to Disneyland with my family for three days and enjoying LA life,” said Khan.
After the shrt vacation, Khan said that she plans on finishing the semester “Warrior Strong.”
Noelle Heckinger (senior, English) will also be traveling as she will be travling to San Francisco to read books and catch up on future homework assignments.
Henry Masellis (senior, English) gets one day to escape from his working break.
“I’m going to pretend to have a break Monday and spend the day at the beach with my boo thang,” Masellis said.
