On May 12, 2023, CSU Stanislaus hosted its annual Warrior Day Festival. This year’s event featured renowned DJ, Deorro. 
Gabriela Garcia (5th year, Nursing) was in attendance during the festival. She was specifically looking forward to the headline act.
“I’m really excited to see Deorro perform today,” Garcia said.
Garcia continued to say this was going to be her third time seeing Deorro live and that she really likes that an event like this was being put on for the students.
The event started at 1pm and lasted until 6pm. The festival had a variety of inflatble attractions, photo ops, and fun booths for attendees to enjoy.
Among the inflatable games was a dueling game where two people try to punch eachother off the pedestal using a big pool noodle with handles. 
Inflatable games weren’t the only thing there. Attendees could also get their faces painted, custom temporary Stan State tattoos, and a caricature done. 
The festival attracted lots of students who thought it would be fun to hear some new tunes.
Abraham Ramos Mata (Freshman, Chemistry) came to the event with some friends of his.
He was looking forward to the music that was being played there. He said he had never heard of any of the bands or the headliner and that got him excited to be exposed to new music.
The festival also attracted the attention of Stan Alumni Cassie Engand (Liberal Studies) and Sadie Tucker (Communications) who attended the event.
“When I went to school here I’d never been to a Warrior Day, So I was like ‘I’m alum now, let’s go!’,” England said.
Tuck then commented saying, “We thought it was time to come back and celebrate and have fun.”
England was looking forward to not only having a fun time and listening to the music, but meeting new people as well.
England then left a piece of advice for current and incoming students saying, “Enjoy your time in college, have fun, and don’t waste it.”
Throughout the entirety of the event live music was being played by bands from around the area. Some of the performers had a connection to Stan State such as the head liner Deorro.
Deorro began his set by saying to the crowd that he has always wanted to perform at Stan State because his wife is an alumnus.
The Latin DJ would go on to deliver a crowd pleasing performance that had people smiling, dancing, and letting loose before finals week.
