The Warrior cheer team takes the stage, March 22 and March 23, to compete for the USA Collegiate National Competition title in Anaheim, CA.
As one of the cheer team’s main goals, the Warriors have prepared all year long with rigorous practices and routines that tested their passion and commitment.
“The cheer team has been through a lot,” Amanda Rosas, advisor for the team, said. “With the semi-new coach, we are really excited for the department.”
Practice after practice and game after game, they have brought nothing but talent and left the rest behind the sidelines. With smiles that lit up the stadium and routines that kept the crowd cheering, the CSU Stanislaus cheer team inched closer and closer to this competition.
“This is a great new stepping stone,” Rosas said. “The coach has been such an asset to the team, going to this competition is something that hasn’t been done before.”
The CSU Stanislaus cheer team will face the two-time national champion program, Cal Baptist University, in their opening round.
Thirty percent of the team’s final score is based on Sunday’s performance, and seventy percent is based on Monday’s performance.
“Regardless of how the girls perform this weekend, we are so proud of them,” Rosas said. “They are putting Stanislaus on the map.”
