The California State University has worked to put together the CSU “Class of 3 Million” yearbook, as they will achieve 3 million alumni with the graduating Class of 2015. California State University, Stanislaus is currently in third, with over 330 alumni partaking in the website.
The “Class of 3 Million” creates the opportunity for any alumni, and those who will be a part of the graduating Class of 2015, to gain a place in the yearbook. Those who sign up have the opportunity to get involved with their campus by attending alumni events or simply connecting with other CSU Stanislaus alumni.
“CSU Stanislaus alumni are coming together through the Class of 3 Million campaign to strengthen our presence within the CSU system,” Lisa McMullen, Director of Alumni Relations, said. “Our alumni are being noticed for taking pride in our alma mater and advocating for our campus.”
CSU Stanislaus sends out its alumni newsletter, making the Class of 3 Million known. Alumni often speak of it, but not all join.
“I’m proud that I graduated from college and so I feel like I should make more of an effort to stay connected to Stan in more ways than going for runs on campus and visiting the bookstore every once and a while,” Diane Mays, a Business Administration 2014 graduate, said.
Many postgraduates feel this yearbook will give them the chance to reconnect with their fellow classmates from CSU Stanislaus. Learning that they have the chance to network with them encourages more people to take part.
“I want to join because I would love to see what other alumni have been up to,” Iveeth Valerio, CSU Stanislaus alumni, said. “Plus, I can find fellow 2008 graduates who I have not seen and I can network with,”
Alumni can visit CSU Stanislaus’ alumni website to sign up for the yearbook, join the Alumni Association and view a calendar of events. The yearbook can also be found on the “Class of 3 Million” website.
“It’s about pride, it’s about creating future networks for our students, and it’s about building an advocacy base within the CSU system and the region,” Dr. Joseph F. Sheley, CSU Stanislaus President, said in his university update.
