Smoking that has great taste, good smell and no known cancer risks? It seems like a fantasy, but that is exactly what you get at Vapor Mo’s, a water vapor smoke shop that recently opened in Turlock.
Vapor Mo’s, named after the owner’s cancer-stricken dog Mossimo who also graces the shop’s logo, looks like a bar/lounge inside and features a full menu including hundreds of homemade vapor juice flavors for those who like to indulge in smoking with vapor pens.
Jimmy Wilson, owner of Vapor Mo’s, opened the vapor smoke shop with a very admirable goal in mind: to help others find an alternative to smoking cigarettes. 
As a child, Wilson picked up the habit of smoking from family around him who later died from its horrible effects. He too ended up becoming a long-time cigarette smoker and tried everything from patches to gum during his mission to stray away from tobacco, but nothing worked.
Once Wilson was introduced to vapor pens by a friend, he knew he had finally found a substitute that he could use and advocate to others.
“It was the only thing that gave me satisfaction as far as quitting goes,” Wilson said. “What I really want to do is help people, reach out to people to help them quit smoking.”
Wilson explained how easy the transition was from cigarettes to vapor pens, and how well the vapor pens simulate the hard-to-break routine.
“You have a habit for 33 years that you’re constantly putting your hand to mouth, so it cures that part of the addiction,” Wilson said. “With your nicotine dosage, it also gives you a little throat hit like a burning cigarette would, so you’re getting the satisfaction of seeing vapor, which simulates smoke, with that throat hit that you get.”  
The array of vapor juices that Wilson offers are Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved and are made right in his shop. Wilson mixes the ingredients right there in front of you, which is quite similar to watching a chemistry teacher play with beakers full of different chemicals.
If you are in the mood for an inexpensive smoke that tastes and smells like American Pie, Banana Cream, Marshmallow or even Peanut Butter Milkshake, the shop can make it happen.
“We have about 250 different flavors that with combinations, you can do about 2000 to 3000 different combinations of juice with just those,” Wilson said. “We don’t like using artificial colors. We don’t like using things from overseas because we don’t know what’s in it. So the real biggest thing for me was that I want to make juice that I want to vape.”
Each vapor juice flavor does have nicotine present in it, but the nicotine used is not tobacco-based. Buyers are even able to choose the amount of nicotine they want in their juices to aid with quitting smoking altogether.
Smoking from a vapor pen is believed to be less harmful to your health compared to cigarettes, but it is important to note that there is not an abundance of long term studies to prove what the effects are.
