Art Space on Main will be hosting its first Relief Printmaking Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 7. Professor Martin Azevedo will be teaching the basics to create a successful linocut print.
You will be given the appropriate tools and instructions to create your very own work of art that you can show off to family and friends.
Relief printmaking is the process of carving a linoleum block to create grooves on the surface. By using special tools, you can engrave intricate images and designs, which can then be inked and pressed onto paper to print out your art. Think of it as creating your own stamp.
Art Space on Main is California State University, Stanislaus’ off campus art gallery, which is located downtown by Xhale Hookah Lounge. They just recently celebrated their one-year anniversary at the gallery, so help to keep the party rollin’ by joining in on this fun opportunity.
No experience is needed to enjoy the fun of creating a print, but all participants must be 18 years of age or older. The event costs $60 and will be held from 12 to 5 p.m. Make sure you sign up for the event before Oct. 31 here.
