According to the Campus Crime Statistics, reported by the University Police Department, ten forcible sex offenses were documented on campus: one occurring in 2012, two occurring in 2013 and seven occurring in 2014. Eight occurred within the residential halls: one happening in 2013 and seven happening in 2014.
The University’s chief of police, Andy Roy, provided a statement.
“Even one sexual assault is too many, but the campus community has worked hard to create a culture that empowers people to be safe and encourages victims to come forward,” Roy said.
Three robberies occurred on campus itself: one in 2012, and two in 2013. No robberies were documented for the residential halls through those years.
Aggravated assault had one case happen in 2012 on campus, and it occurred within Housing. One case of domestic violence was documented in 2013. There was one case of dating violence in 2013 which occurred in the residential halls. And stalking had one documented case in 2013.
In regards of liquor violations, there were three arrests done in 2012. One in 2013 and two in 2014. There were three arrests made in the residential halls in 2012, and one arrest made in the residential halls in 2013.
The number of liquor violation referrals were, 74 in 2012, 69 in 2013 and 91 in 2014 on campus grounds. Housing had 56 arrests in 2012, 55 arrests in 2013 and 63 made in 2014.
As for drug violations, three arrests occurred in 2012, two in 2013 and two in 2014 around campus grounds. One arrest was made on public property. Housing, however, had zero arrests for drug violations through 2012-2014.
Drug violation referrals were, 41 in 2012, and six in 2013 around campus. Housing had 14 referrals in 2012.
In regards of arrests for weapons violations, one arrest was done in 2012, and two in 2014.
There were no murder cases, manslaughter cases, non-forcible sex offenses cases or weapons violations referral cases happening on campus from 2012-2014.
“Stanislaus State, with more than 10,000 members in our community, remains a very safe campus,” Roy said. “The data bear that out, but even more important, the attitudes and helpfulness of our campus community bear that out.”
