For some students, an issue with going to a college like California State University, Stanislaus lies in the commute. Long hours spent driving eats up precious free time that could be spent unwinding at home, studying for an upcoming exam or working on class projects.
However, in Stockton’s Magnolia district, a source of relief for many of CSU Stanislaus’ northern students can be found. Located at 612 Magnolia St., the Stockton Center satellite campus offers a variety of classes to those who are looking to enroll in a course a little closer to home.
Many classes offered at the Turlock campus are also available at the Stockton Center via televised classrooms. This allows students to view and participate in class from Stockton with the teachers and fellow classmates located in Turlock. Furthermore, some instructors teach at the Stockton Center in person, providing an identical classroom environment students in Turlock receive.
The Stockton Center provides more than just classrooms for learning. “A big part of my intent has been for students to have the same services that there would be on the Turlock campuses.” said Dr. Ashour Badal, Interim Dean of the Stockton campus.
Students are able to take care of many administrative services from Stockton, ranging from turning in documentation and getting your student ID card to checking out books from the library. An added bonus is that all parking is free at the Stockton Center.
If you would like to find out more about what the Stockton Center has to offer, you can contact their main desk at (209) 467-5300, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
