The Student Health Center at California State University, Stanislaus (Stan State) is offering students free human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) testing now through Dec. 11.
“Instead of having to spend money and go somewhere far, you can get tested here on campus for free. Anybody can afford free,” Jordan Elzie (senior, Criminal Justice said.
In honor of World Aid’s Day and spreading HIV/AIDS awareness, Omega Nu Omega put on their first annual World Aid’s Week.
This week long event involved fellow on campus Greek organizations competing to be crowned Mr. and Mrs. Omega while promoting the HIV/AIDS awareness cause.
“Students should take advantage of this great opportunity the Student Health Center is providing for us because we as college students are in the age that is most common for contracting AIDS,” Elzie said.
Walk-ins or appointments are currently being accepted during normal business hours.
Influenza vaccines, also known as the flu shot, are also being offered for free to students by the Student Health Center.
