Every once in awhile, a tour comes around that is so great that if I miss it, I’ll punch myself in the face. I got word of one of these tours this summer when Every Time I Die (ETID) announced that they would be heading on tour with The Chariot, letlive, and Kills and Thrills later this year.
I waited months for the dates to be announced so that I could quickly buy tickets and impatiently wait for the day I could drive to San Francisco, or other nearby cities, to see the tour.
Finally, one fine day at school, they released the dates. I quickly checked and the disdain in my heart soared to new heights.
The tour is not coming to California, at all. Not to Sacramento; not to San Francisco; not even to the Los Angeles area. The closest date the tour hits is Dec. 2, in Corpus Christi, Texas. They expect me to go to Texas to see this tour that I’ve anticipated for months?
I got the chance to see ETID at the Vans Warped Tour this summer and they were incredible. I’ve loved the band for years and I was so excited to see them at a show where they would get more than a 30 minute set time. They have amazing tone live and are incredibly tight instrumentally.
The Chariot is the best live band that I’ve ever seen. There’s no band that I’ve ever seen (live or even on YouTube videos) that can even touch the live show that The Chariot puts on. I’ve seen them twice and have been waiting for my next opportunity to hang out with other crazy Chariot fans and go crazy.
As for letlive and Kills and Thrills, I don’t know much about the bands, but I have heard great things. They rounded out a really solid lineup for this tour.
I was so excited to see this lineup live, but sure enough, I’m stuck in California. This was the tour of the fall/winter, so I guess I’ll have to be satisfied with seeing Circa Survive, Touché Amoré, Balance and Composure and O’ Brother in the next month.
