STANFORD — Members of the California State University, Stanislaus men’s and women’s cross country teams ran among the nation’s top runners at the 39th annual Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto last Saturday.
“The team ran very well,” head coach Diljeet Taylor said. “Our women’s team had the highest finish we have had.”
Dawson Vorderbruegge placed 55th in the men’s 8k individual race with a time of 25.33, ten seconds faster than his time at the San Francisco State Invitational on Sept. 14. Senior Palmer Thiele came in with a time of 27.04. Anthony Fagundes was close behind at 27.15.
In the women’s 6K individual race, senior Courtney Anderson placed 42nd with a personal best time of 21.58. Dallas Campbell finished at 22.42. Rubye Elhard came in eight seconds behind Campbell.
“We are continuing to improve and should run well at the championship meets,” Taylor said.
The Warriors will host the Cross Country Stanislaus Invitational at home on Saturday.
