Whether we are between 18 and 20 or 21 and older, here are 10 prime hot spots in this small college town we call Turlock that can help us kick back and have a little fun. Whatever type of nightlife you are looking for, there is something here for you.

1. The Dust Bowl This spot was number one on my list for a few reasons. First, the beer is delicious! Next, of course, the atmosphere is great for 18 and over. They have amazing food and a chill vibe. This place, however, is not for the all-night crowd because it closes 2 hours before California’s mandated last call. But it is great for a weekday wind-down beer.
2. The Red Brick on Broadway The aesthetics of the Red Brick are the best that I have seen locally and the attire is a little dressier than the bars of Turlock. The drinks cost a little more, but the place packs the most people and caters exclusively to the 21 and older crowd.
3. Xhale Before I stopped by Xhale, I truly believed that the trend of hookah bars was dying. This place proved me wrong. The scene was chill and they have weekend entertainment, which includes live performances from belly dancers to up-and-coming artist, such as our fellow students here at California State University, Stanislaus.
4. Staley’s Club After taking a poll from students on campus, the karaoke nights here got rave reviews. 
   “[Staley’s Club] has the best songs for karaoke and has low-priced drinks,” Jana Branscum (junior, Psychology) said.
5. Wellington’s Pub and Grill This pub has the only dance floor in town, but beware of the excess seating around the dance floor and do not get sucked into being a wallflower.
6. Mom’s at CSU, Stanislaus Don’t feel like driving home? Do you live in the dorms? Come hang out for a beer and the weekday entertainment available.
7. Sharkey’s Billiards and Pizza This is a great place with low priced pool and table tennis. It is open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
8. Vintage and The Piano Bar Looking to get dressed up and have some grown up fun? This is the place for you. The crowd is a little bit older, but I did say grown up, right?
9. Fire Temple Didn’t bring your car with you to school? Never fear. This hookah bar is within in walking distance of campus, just on the other side of Crowell. 
10. Shooters Wings and Things Here is the ideal place for the wings and beer atmosphere. If you are a sports fan and want to watch the game, this is the place for you. There is great food, a full bar, and sports.
