Whether you have a valentine or not, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. To many, Valentine’s Day means buying delicious chocolates, obnoxious stuffed animals and red roses.
Contrary to the trend, in California State University, Stanislaus (Stan State), and the rest of Turlock, fun and romantic activities have replaced the clichés listed above.
The Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) and University Student Union (USU) are trying their best to bring the romantic scene to our very own campus. On Feb. 14, they will be hosting a “Dating Game” for fellow Warriors.
This activity will provide Stan State students with the opportunity to get to know the Warrior basketball team in a mock dating game. At this fun activity, a photo booth will also be provided.
In downtown Turlock, love is also in the air. Local restaurant La Mo will be hosting their Valentine’s Day Prix Fixe Four Course Dinner.
At the dinner, live jazz will be provided as well as craft cocktails. Their menu consists of entrées such as duck carnitas, short ribs, stuffed pablano, skirt steak and wedding chicken. Guest will also be given the option of homemade churros or French macarons for dessert.
However, this dinner does require reservations. For more information you can contact [email protected].
Aside from the romantic opportunities in Stan State and Turlock, some students at Stan State do not seem to be in the Valentine’s Day spirit this year.
“I will be going to class and studying,” Bella Cope (senior, Political Science) said.
If these activities are not for you, remember that Netflix is always there for you.
