The Democratic Party Club will be hosting Democratic candidate John Chiang at California State University, Stanislaus (Stan State).
This event will take place on Nov. 6 in the Event Center. There will be refreshments available for the attendees and free parking in Lot 11 after 5 p.m.
During this event there will be a student question-and-answer session following a meet-and-greet at the end.
Democratic Party Club Vice President, Adam Webber (senior, Political Science), states that his club has a desire to bring more Democratic candidates on to Stan State to speak with students.
“We in particular have seen that there is a lack of Democratic candidates not having a tradition to come and appear, and we want to change that. We believe it is important to put Stan State on the map; this is a university where students are active and really do care about politics on different levels, and if these candidates engage with millennials, millennials will engage back,” Webber said.
This event will be primarily for the students and for the candidates to hear what students have to say about tuition increase, financial rights, civil rights and much more.
“John Chiang, and his campaign reached out to us and wanted to come here to speak to a variety and diverse audience,” Webber added.
