This is the first year that the Turlock Fairgrounds is hosting the annual Ranch of Horror (RoH). RoH offers a family friendly, Spooktacular adventure for some Halloween fun.
California State University, Stanislaus (Stan State) students and locals will have the next 5 weekends to explore the spooky attractions.
The Ranch of Horror features 13 main attractions that are fit for various levels of fright.
From family fun hayrides, to a frightening (mature) zombie escape town. Attractions vary in price, yet fit a college student’s budget.
Ranch of Horrors Marketing Coordinator, Heather May, raved about their new thrilling attractions.
“We have a very intense haunted house that is not recommended for children, however we also offer a family friendly hayride,” May added, “the college age kids will love the zombie escape.”
May described the experience in detail:
“You are dropped off on a main street with a few buildings; hidden in one of the buildings is the cure to the zombie outbreak.”
Your adrenaline is sure to get pumping because may stated that, “Unlike Hollywood zombies, our zombies are quick. You will be equipped with a glow in the dark paintball gun to fend off the zombie attack. If you win you get a ride out of town. But if you lose, you have to do the walk of shame back.”
The Ranch of Horrors is open Thursdays – Sundays from 7:00pm to 11:00pm and will be open October 30th-31st from 7:00pm-11:00pm.
They feature attractions such as:
- Ghost Busting house: $7.50(per person) for this family friendly maze.
- Psychic Experience: Peak into your future.
- Haunted Hayride: $7.50 (per person).
- Headless Horseman: experience the tale of Sleepy Hollow, while riding in a horse drawn carriage.
- House of Dystopia: $12.50 (per person) for this self guided haunted house filled with your worse nightmares.
- Jail Break: $10.00 (per person) to experience the thrill of this jail escape room. This is perfect for escape room beginners.
- Morbid State Asylum: $10.00 (per person) to be committed to a wheelchair for a paranormal adventure.
- Movies at the Ranch: FREE event. Every weekend is a new and they are set to begin at 7pm and 9pm.
- Rancher’s Revenge: $15.00 (per person) this is interactive laser gun experience for a more mature audience.
- Stuff a Zombie: for $25.00 (per person) you will get a stuffed zombie (complete with a spider in their chest) with a death certificate and a souvenir t-shirt.
- Thrilling Virtual Experience: $5 (per person) a virtual roller-coaster.
- Zombie Shooter: $5-$10 (per person) Practice shooting as you escape from zombies.
- Zombie Escape: $25.00 (per person) find your way out of an escape room then shoot your way out of danger using paintball guns. (best for mature, and not for the weakhearted)
