California State University, Stanislaus (Stan State) offers a Warrior Express, also known as the Safety Shuttle, that is open to all faculty, students and staff members.

With a quick text at (209) 277-8940 or phone call at (209) 667-3114, the shuttle will arrive to your destination within minutes!

The Safety Shuttle is provided by Stan State’s very own University Police Department (UPD).

The Safety Shuttle is only ran throughout the inside of the campus, making this service more accessible and convenient for students. There are currently eight California State Universities (CSUs) who have a Shuttle bus that is only for the students on campus, and Stan State is apart of one of the eight campuses.

This service is operated by UPD’s student officers, and runs every week night throughout the academic school year; excluding non-academic days and University-recognized holidays. The days and times are listed below:

• Monday – Thurday 6:00 p.m. until midnight
• Fridays 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

“I would recommend this service to anyone, but especially students, who are taking late classes, just so they can always feel safe getting back to their car during the night,” student officer Patricia Sanchez (junior/Criminal Justice) said.

“I enjoy doing the Safety Shuttle for our campus. I get to meet a lot of new students and it’s interesting to hear about their experience,” student officer Jalen Cleveland (junior/ Political Science) added.

According to the UPD’s website, “UPD applied and received a grant through the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to help cover the cost of four, 15 passenger electric shuttles.”

These shuttles will be far better for the environment. The Safety Shuttles are bright yellow with a blinking light on each one, making it very easy to identify where they are.

“Ever since my freshman year here, I have always used the shuttle service whether it was to take me to my car or to my class. The shuttle service is free to use and the best part is if you have class on the opposite side of campus, just call the shuttle service! I’ve enjoyed this service because it is very fast and convenient,” Cindy Tran (senior/ Criminal Justice) said.
