Haylee Morris (junior, Psychology) has attended Fields of Ice on multiple occasions with her friends and loves that it brings something fun to the community of Turlock.
“In Turlock, we don’t have much to do on the weekends… The ice rink brings something new and fun to do in town and is a good way to spend time with my family and friends. I love that I can experience this winter activity without having to travel far,” Morris said.
Karen Macedo, co-owner of Fields of Ice and Stan State alumna, anticipates a great season this year and is excited for guests to have an enjoyable time.
“We strive to make the holiday season in Turlock festive. We like to make it a place for family and friends to gather. To have fun and have something to do in Turlock,” Macedo said.
Fields of Ice also sells Christmas trees, hosts birthday parties, and offers “Photos with Santa.” For birthday party bookings, more information is available on their website.
Jared Raposo (junior, History) works part-time at Fields of Ice and helps with building the ice rink and selling Christmas trees.
“Our Christmas trees are sourced from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. They are of great quality. We offer three tree varieties: Nordsman Fir, Noble Fir, and Douglas Fir ranging from 3-14 ft. We also offer tree flocking here at Fields of Ice,” Raposo said.
Photos with Santa has gained great popularity over the last couple of seasons, becoming a tradition for many families in Turlock and the surrounding communities.
“Our Photos with Santa has really increased popularity over the last couple of seasons. We offer photos with Santa every weekend before Christmas in December. Guests can take multiple photos with Santa and put them on a flash drive to take home for $16. Our Santa is a hit and a great look alike!” Macedo said.
