Finding helpful tools for our academic papers has more challenges now than ever. These days, we cannot simply just walk into the Writing Center like many of us are accustomed to. Luckily, the StanTutor application, which is displayed on your StanPortal dashboard, is there to redirect you to available tutors who are ready to help you.
There are different kinds of tutors ready to fulfill your specific needs. When using StanTutor, you are given the choice between a Writing Center tutor or a tutor specializing in any other subject. Once you choose what type of tutoring you want, choose the specific course you would like tutoring in.
Want help with your thesis statement or want to have your paper proofread before you turn it in? The writing tutors are there to help with the writing aspects of a course. Need help with a specific course, whether that be math, history or science? A tutor will be able to help you with that as well.
Ramika Badelboo (sophomore, Political Science and Psychology) is one of the tutors for StanTutor. She states, “We, as peer tutors, are another resource here to help provide you with the support you need to be successful in all your courses!”
StanTutor has the potential to be a great help to those who need it, especially when most learning has to be done remotely. The Learning Commons is still accessible to all students through this application.
Remember, don’t hesitate to ask for help. If you want homework help or another perspective on your essay, StanTutor is an important resource to go to for help. Book an appointment on StanTutor today and find tutors that can assist you today!
