Summer trips create an opportunity for students to decompress over summer break, while getting some experiences that they can hold onto for the rest of their lives. A local place for students to go on a short getaway is the Yosemite National Park.
Yosemite National Park is home to an endless amount of activities. The park is filled with many trails and iconic viewpoints that many people travel the country to see and take pictures of.
Malerie McGuffin (senior, Communication Studies) said that going to Yosemite is something fun to do if you live in Modesto. ” It makes for a pretty good Instagram photo.”
The park offers activities such as hiking and camping to name a few options that are available.
Some students such as Sean McCarthy (senior, Criminal Justice) take family from out of the country to the National Park. “ We hiked to the Yosemite Falls Trail.”
Yosemite National Park has thirteen campsites which are available by reservation or on a first come first serve basis.
