The Printmaking Club will be selling custom-made t-shirts on Feb. 28 during Warrior Wednesday hours in the quad. T-shirts will be provided for $10 but club members are encouraging participants to bring their own t-shirt and will print on it for a discounted price of $5.
“It’s one of those events where we encourage everyone to come out.” Paul Acevedo (senior, Fine Arts), Student Event Coordinator for the Printmaking Club, said.
The Printmaking Club will also be holding a zine screening workshop on Mar. 2 where students will have the opportunity to learn and create their own zine.
“We are open to anyone, so please come by and check it out,” Alejandro Fernandez (senior, Fine Arts), President of Printmaking Club, said.
The club meets on Fridays at 4 p.m. for carving days where they watch movies, have pizza and/or listen to music. For the carving days all materials will be provided, including carving tools, the linoleum and some basic instructions.
“I would encourage newcomers to ask as many questions they have however specific they are,” Christopher Benson (senior, Fine Arts) said.
For more information about joining the Printmaking Club you can contact the President Alejandro Fernandez, go to their Instagram page, the University’s website or stop by the Printmaking room located in the Art Department room A33.
“The Printmaking Club has a good community of students. They provide a fun creative environment. There are plenty of helpful members that are welcoming and enthusiastic about assisting new members,” Martin Azevedo, Assistant Professor of Graphic Arts and Printmaking Club advisor, said.
The club is hoping to sale custom-made t-shirts every two weeks. This will help the club raise money to buy supplies and go to the Southern Graphics Conference this coming April.
