The State Theatre is currently putting on several events to provide opportunities for single adults to meet and get to know other singles in a laid-back, carefree atmosphere.
Every month, adult singles will pour into the State Theatre, located at 1307 J Street in Downtown Modesto, to connect with adults sharing the same mindset, with the desire to meet someone special and have a nice time.
Some activities these events offer include themed parties and wine tasting.
“Having an event for singles to meet in Modesto would be a great experience for people to meet and see if they could possibly meet that someone special,” Christene Kozina (junior, History) said.
In a technology–driven world, advertisements for dating sites can be seen on the internet and on every other commercial while flipping through the channels.  There seems to be a dating website for any individual with a certain interest or background.
With the click of a mouse one can search for a significant other based on religion, common interests, hobbies, ethnicity, age and much more.  As opposed to this new technological way of trying to meet others, consider attending a local event where one has the ability to interact with other singles in person and in a fun atmosphere.
Last month marked the first Single Mingle event, where 90 singles attended to indulge in wine and a romantic comedy film for a pre- Valentines Day celebration.  These events are opened to adults of all ages who are open to having a good time.
The next event will be held on March 21 where individuals can listen to live blues music, while Dust Bowl Brewing Company puts on a beer-tasting event.
Each event will incorporate different opportunities to ensure a good time for individuals with a variety of interests. The price for admission is $10 and the events begin at 6 p.m.
Money cannot buy happiness, but $10 is a small fee in exchange for a good time spent with other adult singles.
