As students, we often become caught up living in a strict routine– wake up, school, work, eat, sleep, repeat.
Sometimes our days are so suffocated by monotony that it becomes necessary to wander off the beaten path and take a break.
So if you’re cooped up inside, staring at your laptop, dreaming of the mountains, this is the perfect opportunity to escape everything that’s been tying you down.
The Student Recreation Complex (SRC) welcomes students and non-students alike to join a fun-filled adventure in Yosemite to hike and enjoy the great outdoors on Nov. 11.
The last day to sign up for Hiking in Yosemite is Nov. 1 by 4 p.m. in the SRC. The trip is limited to the first five people who register and pay.
The cost for Hiking in Yosemite is $20 for students and $25 for non-students which can be paid with cash, check or Warrior Cash (credit and debit card payments will not be accepted).
The trip fee includes transportation, park entry and a hiking guide – so be sure to pack water, a healthy snack and a yummy lunch.
Participants are expected to complete all health forms, sign all waivers and attend the mandatory pre-trip meeting on Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. in the SRC Fitness Center Lobby to receive more information regarding the trip.
While many would opt for a lightweight cotton shirt for this type of activity, the SRC recommends that participants wear clothing made from synthetic material because, unlike cotton, it is able to wick away moisture.
As for shoes, hiking boots are not required. A sturdy, yet comfortable pair of tennis shoes is all you need.
This trip will be a great get-away – a chance to be active, have fun or simply be captivated by all of the beauty Yosemite has to offer this time of year.
