The Advising Resource Center (ARC) is now offering online advising through ZOOM video conference software to help with simple questions about your education. Advising is available for things such as general education requirements, class registration and university policies and procedures.
Advising is made simple for all students with this software. California State University, Stanislaus’ ARC makes it simple to schedule an appointment. Contact the ARC by phone at 209-667-3304 or by emailing [email protected]. After doing so, you will receive instructions on how to move forward with the advising appointment.
Julie Anaya, an Academic Advisor in ARC, states that it is quite simple (as stated above) to schedule an online advising appointment.
“It really is such an easy process, and takes only a few minutes to efficiently meet with an online advisor through a Zoom video conference,” Anaya said. ” It is FERPA compliant and allows the student to sign into their portal on their own without any doing of the advisor.”
The online advising at CSU Stanislaus is designed to aid students who have to commute with simple questions. Of course, it is not limited to those students. Students who cannot make an appointment on campus can use the alternative of going online.
Anaya and another advisor will be going to the National Academic Advising Conference this week. She said she hopes to bring more information to the table about academic advising. This would help make the future of online advising to be recognized more at CSU Stanislaus.
“The online advising initiative is something that the Advising Resource Center is extremely excited about,” Anaya said. “We look forward to the positive feedback and hope that this is a service students take full advantage of.”
