Boba tea is a Taiwanese based beverage, but it’s progressively making its way from Taiwan to the Bay Area, and from the Bay Area to the Central Valley. As the trendy drink becomes increasingly popular, more locations near California State University, Stanislaus (Stan State) have started serving the sweet treat.
Boba tea is a milky-textured tea that can be ordered in various flavors, and even as a smoothie. The milky tea is often referred to as bubble tea, boba tea, pearl milk tea or “the drink with the fat straw.”
The fun of boba tea are the small, chewy tapioca balls that the tea is typically served over. They come in different colors and flavors that give your drink a more unique taste.
Here is a list of local places you can find yourself a tasty serving of boba tea:
Chong’s Cuisine: Located at 1801 Countryside Dr. in Turlock, this restaurant offers Chinese food, Thai food and, of course, boba tea.
