For the second year a row, California State University, Stanislaus will conduct two split graduation ceremonies on the same day on Thursday, May 24.
The College of the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences will begin their ceremony at 7:00 a.m. The College of Education, Human and Health Sciences, and Business Administration will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Graduating seniors, or graduate students at CSU Stanislaus, will also have the opportunity to become student speakers during the commencement. 
Dr. Keith Nainby, Chair of the Student Commencement Speakers Selection Committee, is searching for students who are ready and willing to speak on behalf of the class of 2012.  
“The committee to select Student Commencement Speakers is currently accepting applications,” Dr. Nainby said. “There will be one student speaker chosen for each of the two commencement slots.” 
All Student Speaker applicants are required to include a draft of their proposed speech. Once all of the applications have been submitted to Nainby, the committee members will read each student’s proposed five minute speech in order to begin the selection process. 
Students will receive notices on Friday, Apr. 20, via mailing or email address. 
“Past speakers have represented the university well, so we are excited about the opportunity to continue that tradition this year.” Nainby said.
