We all handle various roles and responsibilities in our daily lives and often times these responsibilities begin to overwhelm us to an extent where we happen to experience anxiety and even depression.
Join Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Lee Bettencourt, and the Psychological Counseling Services (PCS) in their workshop for effectively managing anxiety and depression in our lives this Thursday at 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Mary-Stuart Rogers (MSR) 260.
Kassidy Liles from the Psychological Counseling Services explains, “anxiety and depression are so prevalent on campus, some students have bad coping mechanisms and this workshop will help build good coping mechanisms to better cope with stress and anxiety.”
Liles further explains how stressful it is for students, especially Freshman, to adjust to college life and being away from home, “they are the ones that are more susceptible to depression.”
The Anxiety and Depression workshop will provide helpful tips and information to help alleviate and manage anxiety and/or depression. The presenter, Bettencourt, will discuss various topics on assertiveness/relationship skills, problem-solving, relaxation exercises and even maintaining emotional wellness.
As we take on the many roles in our lives, it is important that we also learn how to take care of ourselves.
All wellness workshops are offered to students, faculty, and staff from counselors here at Stan State.
