Stanislaus State has officially delayed class registration for the upcoming fall 2021 semester.
The official Fall 2021 Class Schedule will be posted online on May 5, 2021. 1st and 2nd Pass Priority Registration will take place from June 1 to 11, 2021.
Dr. Kimberly Greer, Stan State provost and vice president of Academic Affairs, explained in an email to the campus community that these dates were selected so that accommodations could be made for potentially more in-person courses as health guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic have continued to ease.
“We have been planning all along for increased numbers of face-to-face courses in the fall, but with federal, state and county guidelines relaxing, our ability to offer even more face-to-face courses is becoming a reality,” Greer said.
Greer also explained that this delayed registration will enable students to register for courses with confidence, knowing exactly in what modality each will be offered, whether that be in-person, hybrid, online, or synchronous/asynchronous.
In a separate email to faculty members, Greer explained that extra student advising may be needed to accommodate these changes.
“With student registration now occurring after the end of the semester, the college deans will be reaching out to department chairs and program directors to establish faculty within each program who are willing to provide advising to students for additional compensation,” Greer explained.
While many academic departments at Stan State require and provide major advising, there are some that don’t. To see if your major requires or offers advising, visit your department webpage, which can be found on the official Stan State Catalog of Colleges and Departments.
If your major does not offer advising, you can also schedule an advising appointment with an advisor from Stan State’s Academic Success Center.
