Stan State Students Share their Aspirations for the Fall Semester

Stan State students talk about what they’re looking forward to this fall, including their first-year experience and spending time with their sorority.

Last week, Stan State students began their Fall 2024 semester. A new semester can bring different feelings for different students. Some are excited for the upcoming semester, while others are nervous, but everyone had something they were looking forward to this Fall.

Dylan Chauhan (Kinesiology, Freshmen) said he was looking forward to “getting that first year experience.” He describes looking forward to exploring what clubs are on campus and seeing what kind of experiences Stan State has to offer.

One student described looking forward to simply being on campus. Sarjana Charan (Senior, Criminal Justice) started at Stan State back during COVID-19, when campus was closed almost all classes were held online. She described it was nice to be on campus and was looking forward to finishing up her second to last semester.

A common thing students mentioned was looking forward to meeting new people. Jasmine Hernandez Delgads (3rd Year, Exercise Science) described looking forward to meeting new professors and friends.

Vanessa Morales (3rd year, Criminal Justice) also describes looking forward to the new girls joining her and Jasmine’s sorority Lambda Sigma Gamma.

Whatever students were looking forward to this semester at Stan State, all of them were excited for another year.

Hi, I am in my 4th year here at Stanislaus State currently studying creative media, focusing on video production and graphic design. I am a mixed media editor with the signal working on written and video projects. I also assist with all photography here at the Signal. My favorite topics to cover are the issues that affect students daily life at stan. In my free time, I enjoy the hobbies of photography and model trains the size you can ride on called live steam.

I'm a fourth-year Creative Media student at California State University Stanislaus. I'm also focusing my studies on a minor in Journalism. I'm currently part of the editors team for The Signal as a video editor. In the last year, I've been fascinated by the craft of documentaries. I want to create compelling stories that make me feel and think just like the ones I watch on TV. For that reason, I want to dedicate my time and work during this semester to producing mini-documentaries.

Veronica Sexton, Video Editor

My name is Veronica Sexton, I am Creative Media major finishing up my Art minor. I enjoy gardening, cooking, long bike rides, and yoga. My topics of interest are in art, music, and education. As a Video Editor it is my goal bring creativity, vision, and passion to the Signal.
