The Stan State softball team has closed out its preseason, entering California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play with a respectable finish of a 11-5 overall record.
The Warriors ended their five game run at the NorCal Crossover Tournament with a 3-2 finish, bouncing back after a challenging start.
After opening the tournament 0-2 on Friday, Stan State responded with resilience by earning three straight victories. They defeated Central Washington University, Wildcats, Montana State University Billings, Bobcats and Western Oregon University, Wolves. Their comeback showcased the team’s tenacious power and growth in their division.
The Warriors came alive during the tournament, highlighted by 21 runs scored across two wins and a combined 26 hits. As the tournament progressed, the pitching staff got comfortable and the Warriors had big relief innings, doing a great job at keeping offenses off the bases.

One of the warriors interviewed, Nat Camarena (Sophomore, Agricultural Business) shared her excitement about playing with her team.
“It feels so good, we have such good energy as a team. I’ve never felt more connected with my teammates,” said Camarena.
