After nearly a year of renovations, Smash Bros has officially opened in Turlock.

The business is located at 1205 W. Monte Vista Ave., near Stan State and is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Qais Mohammad (Owner) also operates a family-owned Smash Bros location in Merced and said the Turlock location was a natural fit.

“We chose to open at this location because of the proximity to the university and Monte Vista being an important road in Turlock,” Mohammad said. “We also liked that we shared a parking lot with Dutch Bros Coffee. Smash Bros and Dutch Bros felt like a good match.”

Despite sharing a parking lot with nearby businesses, he said parking has not been an issue.

“No issues at all. If it ever looks busy, just know we try to provide speedy service, typically between 7-8 minutes, so your wait time is never that long,” he said.

Smash Bros offers a menu that goes beyond their classic “Bros Flat” and “Bros Classic” smash burgers. The menu also includes chopped cheese and philly cheesecake sandwiches, sides like bombastic fries and jalapeno peppers and specialty shakes such as ButterFinger and Fruity Pebbles.

With a wide range of options, Mohammad keeps his recommendation simple.

“Double Classic with Grilled Onions,” he said.

With this establishment residing very close to campus, students can head over and enjoy a burger conveniently.

Social Media Food Reviewer Sargis Merza (Junior, Communications) also known as Chef Infinity (@chef_infinity1) on instagram, said he would recommend the restaurant to his audience.

“I’d recommend it to my audience because the employees and environment consist of very nice people and the food is great,” Merza said.

Merza, who reviews food spots across the Central Valley, said the restaurant stands out in the local burger scene.

“I think this place has great potential because we don’t have that many Smash Burger places in the Central Valley,” he said. “LA usually has the best Smash Burger places, so to have something very similar finally in Turlock, its competition should take note.”

Nolan Rawe (Senior, Finance) talked about the convenience of Smash Burgers.

“It is really easy to get to from class, I park along Crowell road and it’s on the way to and from my car,” Rawe said.

He also shared his thoughts on how this place is in comparison to other similar places nearby.

“It is definitely nice having something new, especially when they are experimenting with a different style. The vibe in here also feels like they are catering to the younger crow,” he said.

Rawe also shared what his go to order is.

“Get the Bros Flat Burger, it was really good, and I will definitely be coming back to try other menu options, the location is just so convenient,” he said.

With its close to campus location and menu selection, Smash Bros adds another dining option for students and the community.
