As the end of the semester approaches Stan State students share movies and TV shows they can’t stop watching.
Whether it’s a childhood favorite or a series recommended by a friend or something that fits their interests, these picks often become a way for students to relax and digress from their studies.

Here’s what some students at Stan State say they’ve been watching recently, and why these shows/movies remain on their watchlists.
Daniel Lopez (Senior, English) says he is currently rewatching the “Amazing Spider-Man” series, as it reminds him of his childhood.
“I feel I always have to watch these movies now and then—they’re a comfort series,” Lopez said.
He condemns it as a perfect blend of adventure and familiarity that keeps it at the top of his watch list, particularly enthralled by the relationship between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.
“Going from a toxic relationship in the last Spider-Man series to this is a breath of fresh air,” he said.

For Lainey Kellert (Sophomore, Kinesiology), “The Vampire Diaries” has become a regular part of her routine. She appreciates the comfort the show provides.
“Even though it’s an intense show, it’s relaxing and calming to me,” Kellert said. “It’s a good show to help take your mind off of things.”
Kellert first started watching the series after a friend recommended it to her.
“She told me to watch it, I didn’t for a while, but I finally listened,” she said.

Rodolfo Bobadeu (Junior, Business) has been watching “Ted Lasso” as the series stood out to him due to his love for soccer and the emotional storylines surrounding the characters.
“I’m a big soccer fan, that’s why I think it’s interesting. But I think it brings a good storyline out of the soccer area and that’s why a lot of people would find it interesting,” Bobadeu said.
He explained that the show captures both difficult and uplifting moments throughout the seasons.
“There’s a mix of emotions—there’s a lot of sad scenes; dealing with family life, cheating, divorce. And there’s the happier side; winning championships and working together as a team,” he said.
The combination of soccer and personal stories makes the show engaging to watch for Bobadeu, as it highlights both the challenges and teamwork that shape the characters’ experiences.
Students find comfort and connection through a variety of movies and shows. While their preferences vary from nostalgic superhero films to long-running television dramas, students say these shows often serve as a way to relax and connect with friends who share similar interests.
