As a student of CSU Stanislaus, I was moved by the article “The Importance of Allies in the LGBTQ+ Community” written by Carlos Palmeno. The article highlighted the need for allies in the LGBTQ+ community and the role they play in promoting acceptance and inclusivity on our campus. It is important for students to know that
I agree with the author that allies play a crucial role in creating a safe and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ individuals. I also appreciate how the article emphasizes that no matter your identity, you are supported on campus. It is essential for allies to recognize and support the diversity within our community. It is heartening to see that CSU Stanislaus has a strong ally program that provides resources and support for individuals to feel valued. The article also highlighted the importance of educating oneself on the issues facing the LGBTQ+ community and actively working towards creating a more accepting and inclusive environment which I completely agree on.
As a member of the campus community, it is essential that we support and uplift our LGBTQ+ peers. We must all work towards creating a campus culture that celebrates diversity and inclusivity. I appreciate the author for bringing attention to this important issue and hope that more individuals will take the initiative to advocate for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
