Thornsberry Leads by Example in Warrior Softball, Advocates for Equality

The excellence of Stanislaus State softball player Katie Thornsberry (Senior, Sociology & Communications) highlights the role of determination and a healthy mindset in the journey of a collegiate female athlete.

Thornsberry emphasized the importance of sports in building young women’s confidence, and underscored the need to support female athletes with the same encouragement and resources given to their male counterparts.

Remember to head out to the Warrior Softball Field to watch the Stan State women’s softball team. Sporting events are free to Stan State students, so just remember to bring your student ID, plenty of enthusiasm and your team pride!

Rebecca Sobrevilla is a senior at Stanislaus State, majoring in communication studies and minoring in journalism. This is her first year with the Signal, she has previous experience in music journalism and has had several published articles through platforms such as ThatFangirlLife and Jaded Productions. With these publications, she has been able to interview artists like Stephen Sanchez, The Warning and Giant Rooks. Aside from writing, her hobbies include concerts, traveling, photography, staying up to date with pop-culture and supporting her favorite artists and sports teams.

Ella Adams, Reporter

Ella Adams is a senior at Stanislaus State, majoring in psychology and minoring in journalism. She works as a reporter for the Signal where she dives into reporting and writing news. She loves storytelling and is excited to use it both now and in the future as a journalist. In her free time she enjoys tennis, reading and watching true crime.

Isabel Arrizano, Photo and Video Editor

Isabel Arrizano is a senior here at Stanislaus State. She is majoring in creative media focusing on photography and social media management. She thrives documenting sports events, shooting portraits and writing as a journalist here at the Signal. On her free time you can find her at music events, taking pictures and spending time with family.
